Friendship—it's a million little things. It sounds like laughter, feels like comfort, and it looks like me and you.
By becoming a Friend of Dogs Inc, I'm supporting their life-changing misson by raising funds for the cause. The nonprofit organization breeds, raises, and trains extraordinary guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs that make the world a brighter place.
These adorable puppies grow into big paws that fulfill even bigger destinies. They warm hearts with hope and bring dreams to life. As a true friend, I can be a part of this magical impact.
Best of all, Dogs Inc provides these extraordinary dogs at no cost to the recipients, thanks to the generous support of donors.
Why am I fundraising?
I am raising funds to name a dog after Sergeant First Class John Thomas Stone who was killed in Afghanistan March 2006 while serving with the Vermont Army National Guard with my two girls' father. Tom came to visit my girls and I when he came back to the states on leave so he could give the girls hugs and gifts from their dad. He returned and was shot by Taliban militants. We attended his military funeral with the governor, his longtime partner, family, friends, and visited his memorial grave site and I think of him often. I learned we could raise money to name a dog and would like to do this to keep his memory alive.
