Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club is delighted to announce the return of the Walk N Talk event benefiting the veterans' programs of Dogs Inc. The event is planned for Saturday, February 14, 2026. Sign-in starts at 8:00 a.m. at the Clubhouse front entrance, and the Walk N Talk begins at 8:45, breakfast and speaker at 9:15.
If you are attending the event, but not walking, please join us in the Clubhouse for breakfast and the speaker. Our special guest will share how his service dog changed his life.
For those unable to attend, we appreciate your donation of any amount. Your generous gift will be used to fund scholarships for our veterans' programs. Double your donation - your gift will go twice as far! Caring supporters have pooled their resources to create the 2026 Heroes Challenge. The Dogs Inc Heroes Council will match your gift, dollar for dollar, with all proceeds supporting the extraordinary dogs that make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families. 100% of your contribution is tax-deductible and will support veterans? programs at Dogs Inc, a 501(C)(3) charity.
From its meager beginnings in 2004, the 2025 event raised $26,500 with 130 walkers and 210 donors. Since its inception, the Stoneybrook Walk N Talk has resulted in over $256,000 gifted to Dogs Inc. Your donations fund scholarships that provide service dogs to veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and other disabilities, as well as guide dogs to veterans with vision loss, facility therapy dogs that provide therapeutic services to veterans and families being treated in military medical facilities, and gold star family dogs that provide loving companionship to military children and families who have lost a loved one in service to the nation. Every gift makes a tremendous impact on the heroes who need these life-changing dogs.
Special guest will share how his service dog changed his life. We are honored to welcome John, Air Force and Navy Veteran, as our guest speaker. John's story is one of profound service, sacrifice, and the extraordinary healing power of a dog. After losing his beloved pet Lab, Tank, John couldn't have known that just one week later, Randall - the service dog who would change his life - would be born. Even more powerful: Randall shares a birthday with one of John's fallen comrades, a pilot who once saved his life. Today, Randall is more than a mobility partner; he's a steady source of calm and connection. "I have this little soul that is tied to me now, and we're gelling into a team," John says. When physical or emotional pain surfaces, Randall is there. "He'll put his head on my lap and just look up at me, and that calms me down." John's story is a moving reminder of how our dogs don't just serve. They heal. You won't want to miss hearing him speak!
The minimum donation is $25.00 per person for those participating in the live event. The donation includes coffee and breakfast.
